New Year’s Resolutions For Coffee Lovers

Coffee New Year's Resolutions

As another year has passed by, we look forward to the year ahead and everything that we can achieve in 2023.

Part of this process tends to involve setting a New Year’s Resolution.

If you’re yet to do this, and you’re a coffee lover, we’ve got some ideas and suggestions for the best New Year’s resolutions for 2023.

1. Stop using disposable coffee cups

We are sure that this is a New Year’s resolution that you can all get behind. You may be saddened and shocked to learn that approximately 300 million disposable coffee cups end up in a landfill per year.

So, if you’re stopping to get your favorite coffee on the way to work, make sure you bring your coffee cup with you.

Otherwise, you’ll need to use the coffee cup given to you, which is not reusable and will end up in your local landfill.

If we can all make this small change, it will truly make a massive difference overall.

2. Brush up on your knowledge of all things coffee

Spend some time learning about the drink that you love so much. Coffee is a truly incredible and interesting subject, which has its own history.

Learning about coffee will take you on a journey of different cultures all around the world

The good news is that it is easier to learn about coffee than ever before, thanks to all of the articles and videos online.

3. Practice latte art

There’s just something special about drinking a delicious cup of coffee that has a beautiful design on it, isn’t there?

How good your latte art is will depend on a number of factors. Not only does your experience play a role, but so does the type of wand you use, how you froth the milk, and the kind of milk you use.

If you’re just getting started, a Pannarello art wand may be just the thing you need.

However, if you have advanced beyond this, you can start trying out different techniques so that you can add your own personal flair to the drinks you make.

4. Try a new roast, blend, or bean

A New Year presents you with a new start, so why not make the most of this by trying a coffee bean, blend, or roast that you’ve not had the pleasure of trying before?

While trying a new coffee can be a bit intimidating, it can also be very exciting.

If you already know the sort of roast you enjoy, i.e. dark, medium, or light, you can then pick a new blend that falls into that category so you can explore brand new tastes and flavors without going too far away from something you already love.

5. Clean your coffee gear more regularly

If most of us are honest, we don’t clean our coffee gear as regularly as we should.

Have you noticed that the hopper on your grinder is a bit greasy from all of the coffee oils?

Is your ceramic displaying different shades of mahogany?

If so, this is a clear sign that you need to clean your coffee gear on a more frequent basis.

You’ll thank yourself for making the effort as well. Not only will your coffee equipment look better, but your coffee will start tasting cleaner too.

6. Cut out the sugar

Your final coffee New Year’s resolution is to cut down on the amount of sugar you have in your coffee. Yes, sugar adds sweetness to your coffee, but there are lots of reasons why you should skip it next time you have a cup of java.

Of course, there are obvious health benefits associated with cutting down on your sugar intake.

However, you’ll also gain a greater appreciation for your cup of coffee and the nuances of the flavor by getting rid of the sugar.

Yes, it may feel a bit bitter at first. You’ll soon get used to it, though. This will enable you to get a real feel for the kinds of coffee you enjoy the most. Plus, you may find yourself ordering smaller sizes, which will save you funds and calories too.

What’s going to be your New Year’s resolution?

We hope that you now have some good ideas and suggestions that will help you to set the perfect New Year’s resolution in 2023.

Remember, a New Year’s resolution doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of something.

It’s simply about making changes so that you can enjoy a year that is better than the last.
